Settlement Agreement

Our expert solicitors have a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of HR and employment law.

How Baker Ashley Can Help with Your Settlement Agreement

At Baker Ashley, we focus entirely on supporting employees with settlement agreements.

No matter why your employer has given you one, whether it’s due to redundancy, performance concerns, ill health, workplace stress, or a wider company restructure, we’re here to help.

Our employment law specialists work nationwide, offering advice by phone or online, so you can get expert guidance wherever you are. We’ll explain exactly what your settlement agreement means, including the legal impact of signing it. If we believe the offer isn’t fair, we can step in to negotiate with your employer and work to secure the best possible outcome for you.

Settlement Agreement Advice and Sign-off Service

If you are happy with the terms of your settlement agreement and need one of our specialist employment solicitors to review it with you and sign it off, we can offer you a same-day telephone appointment and online sign-off service. Our process is streamlined so it can be completed from start to finish in as little as twenty-four hours.

Step one: send us your settlement agreement
We will ask you to send us a copy of your settlement agreement, your employment contract, and any other relevant documents.

Step two: settlement agreement advice and sign-off call
We will book your settlement agreement advice call with one of our specialist employment solicitors. This call will typically take between forty-five minutes and an hour, depending on the complexity of your agreement.

During the call, your solicitor will review the terms with you and provide specialist legal advice on their meaning and effect. If your solicitor finds any terms that are unfair or unreasonable, we will request that your employer amend them.

Step three: signing and billing
Once the final version of your settlement agreement is received, we will proceed to signature. The signed agreement will then be sent to your employer for counter-signature, along with an invoice to cover your legal fees.

Once counter-signed by your employer, your settlement agreement will be fully executed and legally binding. Although our involvement usually ends at this point, if you experience any issues with payments due under the agreement, you can contact us for further assistance at no extra cost. While this situation is rare, it gives you peace of mind that we will continue to support you until the money is in your bank account.

Compensation for Unfair Dismissal Claims

Our solicitors have the expert knowledge and skills needed to provide high quality advice and assistance with tribunal claims. With substantial experience of successfully representing clients at tribunal hearings, we’re perfectly positioned to provide you with strategies that deliver the right result for you.

This service is provided on a fixed fee basis, with all of the costs clearly explained at the start.

Settlement Agreement Negotiation

The team at Settlement Agreement Solicitors are expert negotiators who can deal directly with your employer to secure the best possible deal for you.

Because we focus solely on settlement agreement law, there are very few situations we have not encountered before. Our expertise and experience allow us to quickly understand your employer’s motivations and use that insight to secure a compensation award that meets or exceeds your expectations.

Even if you have tried to negotiate a better offer without success, we may still be able to improve the deal significantly. In most cases, the negotiation process can be completed well within the deadline your employer has set.

Call us today for a free case review, and we will tell you whether your case is negotiable. If it is, we will work to negotiate a better offer for you
